Katie got her cap and gown the other day, so we took the opportunity to snap a couple of pictures (check out the graduation photo set on Flickr here. We’ll be adding to it, so check back often). She got her Honors sash yesterday — we’ll have to snap some new photos with that on soon. Graduation for the Class of 2010 at Eastview High School is June 5. If you can’t be there, you can watch it live online at district196.org.

WTF?

From WCCO:
After a hiatus for the traditionally-snowy months of March and even April, snow will be making a return to Minnesota Friday night and into Saturday.
WCCO-TV Meteorologist Mike Augustyniak said any snow in the Twin Cities would fall after dark on Friday evening. Until then, we can expect a cold rain.
People in the Twin Cities can expect a coating to up to an inch of snow by the time they wake up Saturday morning. Augustyniak said the snow will mostly accumulate in grassy areas, but probably won’t be enough to coat any roadways.
The snow could be a bit heavier in northern and central parts of Minnesota and Wisconsin. People in those areas could see 1 to 3 inches of snow, again, mostly in grassy areas, Augustyniak said.
Dear Family:
We are moving to Cabo. That is all.

Here are some photos of Jesse in action against Hastings today with the Eastview 7-8 Black team. She is the only girl in the all-boys league. Eastview won the first game of the day 8-1. Jesse had a great hit on an attack man twice her size, knocking him to the ground. She later stepped in front of one of his shots when the goalie was out of the net, taking the shot in her unprotected bicep. She saved the goal, but got a nice bruise in return. In the day’s second game, Eastview Black lost a close one, 5-3, to a powerhouse Centennial team that beat its opponents by a combined 28-1 in both opening weekend games. Eastview Black’s season record now stands at 3-1. Go, Lightning!
Check out the rest of the photos in our Flickr set. We’ll be adding to them as the spring season progresses:

We traveled to Bemidji State last weekend to enroll Katie in her fall classes and to go through orientation. We had a blast meeting Katie’s academic advisor who is also head of the Education Department, some of her new classmates and parents who were as nervous as we were. We also got a chance to tour Katie’s freshman dorm, Oak Hall, and to walk around campus on a gorgeous spring day. We knew it would be a great day when we were greeted by a bald eagle hovering just overhead as we parked on the shore of Lake Bemidji. Move-in day for freshmen is Aug. 20. We are not nearly ready. Here are some photos from our visit:
