Yes, that’s a quote from the Grateful Dead in the title, for all you young pups.

Well, I’m posting this from a new coffee shop in Dunlap, Tennessee, where I’m visiting my dad.

Yesterday, we spent all day at church, first for the service, then for a bluegrass and gospel fest called Rally in the Valley (all the Methodist churches in the Sequatchie Valley sent their best singers and musicians to the festival. My stepmom, Grandma Ellen, plays mandolin with a little bluegrass outfit. Their version of “Uncloudy Day” had ’em clapping and dancing in the aisles.)

We’re having a nice visit and will be heading down to my Grandma’s in Alabama on Wednesday.

The weather is beautiful — 70s and sunny. A far cry from the 12 below and foot of snow I slogged through at White Earth, Minnesota, last weekend.

That’s all for now, y’all.
