Guys and Dolls jr. update

Today after school for 105 minutes we worked on the dance steps (My feet are sore) for the song Sit Down You’re Rocking The Boat. So far things are going really well and I have memorized a few of the songs for the play. There will be more updates to come. Feel free to leave your comments.

So yesterday, Laurie and Art had to run to the grocery store and it was 31 below zero with wind chill. It was so cold that when Laurie slopped a bit of coffee out of the top of her Caramel Macchiatto, the droplets froze solid before they hit her glove. They actually formed little coffee beads on the surface of the gloves. Worst of all, all of Art’s beer out in the garage froze solid and exploded. Oh, the humanity….

Here is an actual photo of Art walking out to the curb to check the mail today. The photo above shows what happened when he stopped to mourn the loss of his beer and froze in his tracks.

Today spiders were crawling on us, Praying Mantises were eating and caterpillers were dying! Don’t worry, not literally! Today, the Coulson family saw Bugs 3D (watch the trailer here) at the Ominitheater in the Science Museum of Minnesota! (I don’t think Katie liked it!) It was an action-packed movie for the whole family! Although, EVERYONE says they would hate to be MY favorite character! It still hasn’t failed that my favorite charactor ALWAYS dies or turns evil. In this case it was a caterpiller. It was killed and eaten by a Praying Mantis. Oh well, maybe in the next Harry Potter book I should like Snape — and get him killed off! Pictures of our fun day to come!

My Funny (Belated) Valentine

Here’s a picture for all you lovers out there. The caption from Reuters news service:

Wow, 27 Years Ago

Another vintage photo. This is a shot from the Hurricane Party at the Gilbert-Addams dorm at Duke University in 1979, right after we arrived at school for our freshman year. Father Michael Francis Minogue and Father Beaver O’Koren sell indulgences to the poor saps stuck at school during Hurricane David, which wreaked havoc on the campus during our freshman year. The theme song for the night, as I recall, was “One Bourbon, One Scotch and One Beer,” by George Thorogood and the Delaware Destroyers.

The one on the left is the tasty game bird. The one on the right is simply labeled “victim.” Even with my bifocals I can tell the difference. My dad and grandpa taught me to know your shot before pulling the trigger….

Bigger Not Necessarily Better

I’m twice the man I was when Laurie married me 20 years ago next month. So I’m using the spare time I have while I look for a new job to hit the gym daily and work out like a madman. Why, just the other day my arms were so sore from lifting weights that I couldn’t lift my coffee cup to my lips. If I could just keep from lifting my fork to my lips, that would be half the battle.
I’ll keep everyone up to date on my progress as the pounds melt away.

Poor fish!

It is sad, I know. All the fish have died. Still, the snails remain. Sunshine, Katie’s snail, and Estavon, my snail.( Don’t tell Katie, but my snail is SOOOOOOO much better!) Hopefully, the snails will live a long time. The fish died because they all got a disease called Ick. I also think that this is a weird name for a disease. Ick looks like little grains of salt growing on them. That is all.
